Developing the Mysterious vessel (knees)
This practice belongs to the Peach Orchard tradition and is directed at practical understanding of the characteristics of the body. It is related to the quality of the development of the body, the energy and the consciousness. The practice treats the Mysterious vessel (knees) as an independently developing vessel, capable of generating jing energy, which has a separate characteristic of life-rhythm and is necessary for construction and change of the whole body, the energy and the consciousness.
The practice for the development of the knees has five levels:
Level 1
Directed at construction of the vessel in order to reach the possibility for its alchemical transformation. This level studies the practice (the formula), allowing to perceive the Mysterious vessel as a matrix organ.
Level 2
Directed at construction and development of the internal connections (datong neimai), allowing to perceive the vessel as integral part of a unified body, which defines the gathering and developmental properties of the vessel.
Level 3
Ability to form the conditions for production of elixir – the energy capable of transforming the body. The level defines the connection of the vessel with the lower cinnabar field. This level is also related to the notion of the acquirement of vital breathing, when the vessel begins to influence the breathing process of the body as a whole.
Level 4
The fourth level defines the ability of the vessel to distill the energy and form new characteristics of the body (heavenly paste (shenhua)).
Level 5
The fifth level is defined by the ability to participate in the full or partial change of the whole body; the process also corresponds to the notion of the formation of miraculous powder (dansha).
