Developing the Flower Cauldron vessel (abdomen)
This practice belongs to the Peach Orchard tradition and is directed at practical understanding of the characteristics of the body, where the Flower cauldron vessel (the abdomen) is treated not as a cinnabar field but as a vessel. The practice is related to the quality of the development of the body, the energy and the consciousness and develops the Flower cauldron vessel as an independently developing vessel, capable of generating jing energy, which is necessary for construction and change of the whole body, the energy and the consciousness. The Flower cauldron vessel has an independent characteristic for the formation of Unified center; i.e., although the given vessel is viewed separately from the law of the development of the cinnabar field, its formation serves as basis for the alchemical process in the human body.
The practice has five levels:
Level 1
Directed at construction of the vessel in order to reach the possibility for its alchemical transformation (liandan). This level studies the practice (the formula), allowing to perceive the Flower Cauldron vessel as a matrix organ.
Level 2
Directed at construction and development of the internal connections (datong neimai), allowing to perceive the vessel as integral part of a unified body, which defines the gathering and developmental properties of the vessel.
Level 3
Ability to form the conditions for production of elixir – the energy capable of transforming the body. This level is also related to the notion of the formation of conditions for the creation of Unified Sphere, when the vessel begins to affect the process of energetical circulation in the whole body.
Level 4
The fourth level defines the ability of the vessel to distill the energy and form new characteristics of the body (heavenly paste (shenhua)).
Level 5
The fifth level is defined by the ability to participate in the full or partial change of the whole body; the process also corresponds to the notion of the formation of miraculous powder (dansha). This level defines the complete fusion of the vessel with the cinnabar field.
